For this edition of The Shell we'll be discussing Unreal Fest Orlando, the finale of this months Rigging Challenge, some Inverse Kinematics demos, and more!

Unreal Fest Orlando Recap

Earlier this month, a member of the team attended Unreal Fest in Orlando! Over the week we attended talks, spoke with other TAs, and learned about the many different uses of Unreal Engine across industries. Here are some of our biggest takeaways from conference:

Unreal Engine is used across a variety of different industries. From Simulation, to Virtual Production, even Automotive companies, developers are using the engine for a variety of different purposes

On that note... There's a lot of job opportunities outside the gaming industry use transferable skills. If you are struggling to find a role within the games industry, try expanding your horizons and look for roles in adjacent industries where you can build you skillset

•

Unreal Fortnite is here to stay and it's bigger than you might think. We spoke with numerous UEFN developers from around the world and across the age spectrum. Our main takeaway: the platform is still the 'Wild West', but there are many people finding huge sucess building games and experieces on the platform

We'll be highlighting some of the talks that were given at the conference as they are released on the Unreal Engine YouTube account.
